First, Paul had a swim in his grandparents’ swimming pool. After that, he was very hungry. He ate the bread and sausages that Grandma made for him, and then wanted more bread. Grandma looked in the cupboard in the kitchen but there wasn’t any more.

He saw Dad’s cup of coffee and he drank some coffee from it. John ran to stop the rabbit and he shouted ‘No, don’t drink that, Skip!’
In the afternoon, Skip didn’t look well. ‘Let’s take him to the animal hospital,’ said Jane. Dad took them in the car. A vet looked at the rabbit. ‘He’s got stomach-ache. Coffee is very bad for rabbits,’ she told them. ‘He needs to drink lots of water now, and he can eat carrots too.’ Skip drank some water, and in the evening he started to hop again. Lucy and Matt’s mum is a doctor. The children and their dad were at home last Monday evening when Mum called. She said, ‘I have to do some more work here at the hospital. Ask Dad to make your dinner.’

The family looked for some food in the kitchen cupboards. They found some onions, potatoes and carrots. ‘What can we make with these?’ asked Matt. ‘I’m very hungry!’ Then Lucy said, ‘I know! We can make soup.’ Matt was not happy. He said, ‘I don’t like soup. I want pasta and meatballs!’ ‘Sorry, Matt,’ Dad said. ‘We haven’t got any pasta or meatballs. We only have these vegetables to eat for dinner.’
Lucy and Dad made the soup. Then the three of them sat down and started eating. Lucy asked Matt, ‘So, what do you think?’ ‘It’s fantastic! I love it!’ Matt answered. ‘Can I have another bowl of soup, please?’ And they all laughed.

Last weekend, Vicky and Tom said to their friend Daisy, ‘Would you like to go for a walk in the jungle?’ Daisy sa id, ‘I need to take some photos for homework. I can do that there.’ Vicky’s mum said, ‘Take coats with you.’
The children laughed and said, ‘It’s hot and sunny. We don’t need coats!’
When the children got to the jungle, they saw lots of monkeys in the trees.
Tom took pictures of some beautiful plants which had red flowers on them.

Tom got some very big leaves and they held them above their heads. The monkeys came and sat with them. When it was sunny again, the children ran back home. Mum looked at their clothes and was surprised. ‘Didn’t it rain in the jungle?’ she asked.

‘Oh great! A CD! Thanks!’ said Lucy.

Last holiday, Peter went to his cousin Sue’s flat in the city.
On the first morning, the children played table tennis. Then Sue’s mum said, ‘Can you help me with lunch please?’ Sue helped Mum with the food, but Peter did nothing.
